Summer Reading Program and Events!

June
11AM - 4PM Saturday and Sunday 5th and 6th: Join us for the Victorian Home Tour. We’ll be waiting with lemonade and cookies!

10AM - 12PM Saturday, 12th: "Truck Day" at Jilson Square sponsored by the 3 Windham libraries. Fire trucks, dump truck, cement truck, bus, old Ford trucks, ice cream truck and more!

6:30 PM Thursday, 24th: Popular musician, Jason Altieri, will help us kick-off our Summer Reading Program, “Make a Splash –READ!” Everyone will receive a free beach visor!

10:30 AM Tuesday, 22nd: 5th Annual Pet Show. Everyone gets a prize ribbon!

6:30 PM Tuesday, 29th: Award -winning children’s illustrator, Barbara McClintock, will join us for an American Celebration with sparklers at the library! Autographed books will be available for purchase.

10:30 AM Saturday, 10th: Appearance by the Rock Cats baseball mascot with stories!

2:00 PM Tuesday, 13th: “Connecticut Invents” - This program presented by the CT Museum of History, celebrates CT inventions of the toothpaste tube, Frisbee, can opener, submarine and many more. Kids will become hands–on inventors with straws, tape, pencils and paperclips!

6:30 PM Thursday, 15th: “Magi-Tainment” – An entertaining magic program for all ages!

6 – 9 PM Friday, 23rd: “Stamp, Snack, and Chat” at the home of Heidi Gallen, our Friends of the Library President. For a $10 fee you get snacks and two finished stamping projects. Call the library for tickets.

10:30 AM Saturday, 24th: Mrs. Cardot’s Craft Corner will help us create an art masterpiece!

2:30 PM Tuesday, 27th: “Joe Hynds” - One of Connecticut’s favorite comedy magic shows!

2:30 PM Tuesday, 3rd: “Vanilla Swirl” - Come see a flea circus!

2 PM Tuesday, 10th: “Around the Pond and in the Woods” – We’ll explore nature by splashing in our own stream behind the library and hear stories about aquatic animals and plants! Program presented by the Kellog Environmental Center of CT.

6:30 PM Thursday, 12th: “Shirlee Sheathelm Makes a Splash!” - This local artist will exhibit examples of “Children in Art”, then encourage kids with their individual painting creations.

11:00 AM Saturday, 21st: “Buana Iguana” - Our Summer Reading Finale! Live animals and snow cones!
